Vale of White Horse - Blewbury

Blewbury has four war memorials. They are recorded in a book published in 2008 by Mark Palethorpe and Audrey Long of the Blewbury Local History Group. (contact audrey.long@waitrose.com for details)

War Shrine (WM5846)



located at the junction of Nottingham Fee and London Road.

Originally a wooden panel listing names but replaced in the 1950s by a simple granite stone

St Michael's Church



War Memorial (WM5167)



The memorial is a framed tablet recording 26 names for WW1 and 7 for WW2. It was unveiled around 1926

Blewbury Chapel



War Memorial (WM5847)

This records the same 26 names for WW1 as the Church memorial but there are one or two variations in initials.

Lychgate (WM5848)
The lychgate records 24 names from WW1
